Did I tell you that I am back to working as a Physical Therapy aid/student observer during therapeutic riding sessions?
If you’re still struggling with a visual because you don’t spend much time around horses just keep in mind that I am 5’8” and if I am standing at the horses’ shoulders I struggle to see over them. You have a 150lb person sitting on a VERY tall horse riding along when all of a sudden your instructor yells “EMERGENCY DISMOUNT!!!” and within 2 seconds you have that same 150lb person hurtling towards you and you have to pull them off and away from the horse in one fell swoop.
I am meeting my first student on my first day at a therapeutic riding center. Like me, Elli has vibrant red hair. She's petite with glasses and clearly very friendly because we just met and she has no lack for words. As we prep for the ride I learn bits and pieces about her. She's been riding for 20-something years. She's 23 years old. She's a writer - working on her first book. And she hates "going down the hill" during her ride.
Bug was a tiny filly when she was purchased as a pet (yes, a pet) by a PlayBoy Bunny (yes, a PlayBoy Bunny).
Money is literally bombproof.
